About Butter's Fine Food & Wine
Butter’s Fine Food and Wine, a destination for fine cheeses, wine, cured meats, specialty beer, gourmet grocery, maple syrup and olive oils, was founded in 2006 by Mahattan investment banker, former Fullbright Scholar, and archeologist, Keith Dickey. Kristy Stephens Ammann, chef and food industry entrprenuer, took the reins from Keith in Jan 2010. Dickey remains on the advisory board of Butter’s Fine Food and Wine and still frequents the shop.
Kristy, a graduate of the Southern New Hampshire University culinary program, and former Baker of the Year, trained under Michael Buckley, owner of Michael Timothy's Urban Bistro, Surf and Buckley's Great Steaks. Kristy was the Editor's Choice Winner of New Hampshire Magazine's Best of NH 2009 - Old Fashioned Gourmet Cakes Award. Her company, Soirée Cakery recently moved into Butter's Fine Food & Wine, adding her baking talents and award –winning cakes to the menu.
In addition to imported cheeses, cured meats, and wines from around the world, Butter’s fine food and wine also features quality goods from NH and Vermont, like craft beers from White Birch Brewing in Hooksett, Cheeses and products from Vermont Butter & Cheese Creamery in Vermont, Maple Syrup bottled at Fuller’s Sugar House in Lancaster, Fresh Summer Herbs from Cole Gardens in Concord, New Hampshire, and chocolate from Winnepesaukee Chocolates in Wolfeboro.
A recently added wine bar and full size dairy cow window display, accents the store’s gourmet, yet fun, atmosphere. The wine bar functions as the serving device for the wine tastings that occur every Thursday evening from 4:30 to 6:30 pm and wine class on scheduled Tuesdays. Butter’s Fine Food and Wine also plays host to Artists, Authors, guest Chefs or culinary craftsmen and craftswomen to accompany the Thursday evening Wine tastings.
